Default Rear shackle trade

I have 2'' lowering shackles on a 2004 I just bought. It only has 32k and the shackles look like were recently installed.

Does anybody want to trade for a pair of factory ones? I do a fair amount of hauling, and it just makes more sense to me to have the factory ride height.

Thanks

They will not effect your hauling capacity. I pulled my wifes Jetta on a 18ft. trailer 350 miles up and down the hills of Ga. from Atlanta home to FL.

They do affect wheel travel and the truck bottoms out a lot more. I am curious if someone makes a shackle with stock height and a couple inches lower built in so you don't have to change out the whole deal when you want to tow something heavy. I had to trim my bump stops because it bottoms out on a launch at the track, towing 1000's of pounds definitely makes it worse.

You must be missing a leaf spring then. I have a 99 and mine does not bottom out with the 2" shackles. Lots of folks pull a leaf or 2 on the later year models when lowering them. Try some of the other sites classifieds, I see stock shackles from time to time.

I bought my 01 truck off a 74 year old man with 8000 miles on it and I have never removed any leafs. He had some belltech shackles on it and I installed long bars. I used to have troubles launching with the power turned up, it would bite, then bounce off the snubbers and unload the suspension causing it to shake the tires. I trimmed the bumpstops and that seems to have pretty much fixed it for the most part. I put a dab of grease on the axle tube to figure that out and you could see after a pass where it hit. I haven't tried that since I trimmed them, however. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the big power trucks nail them all the time. With some wieght in the bed it will touch them on a good speed bump. There's not a lot of travel back there when lowered and trailer takes even more away.
